Project management doesn't have to be a dystopian nightmare.
It's time to figure out the right system for you!
We begin June 11th 2021!!!
You missed out!
Approximately 72% of entrepreneurs are considered neurodivergent—32% of us have more than one diagnosis.
Isn't that exciting???
30% of us have chronic depression.
11% of us are bipolar.
Nearly 29% of us have ADHD. That's almost three times more than the general public.
27% of us have anxiety.
And despite the fact that nearly 35% of autistics are considered "unemployable," an estimated 3-5% of entrepreneurs identify as autistic.
It's too bad that your project management software wasn't really designed with you in mind, isn't it?
Just Neurodiverse Things: Special Projects
I mean...let's be honest, shall we?
The reality is, very few things were designed with neurodiversity in mind. Modern workplace productivity is based around systems that were designed in the industrial age. Even now, workers who have been more productive in the last year than they have their entire lives are being forced back into workplaces for "morale" and "cohesion."
And, don't get it twisted.
It may have been more productive, but there has been an increasing lack of respect from employers for work/life balance. Emails at all hours, endless Zoom meetings, an increase in unpaid labor expectations.
Forget any awareness of the fact that everyone's mental health is in crisis right now.
It's no wonder so many of us are entrepreneurs. We don't have any other options.
But I'm here to tell you that you don't have to put up with bad systems.
You can make your own.
I'm going to show you how.
We begin June 11th 2021!!!
Most of the entrepreneurs I know fit into two buckets.
The paper Hoarder
It's possible you're still writing everything down on paper.
Buuuuuutttttt.... there are 47 different notebooks, most of them empty, a bunch of different paper planners, and what you're really using is a bunch of sticky notes or index cards.
The Early Adapter
Alternatively, you've tried every digital system known to man, hated them all, and eventually settled for Trello or Asana.
In order to make things work, you've got at least ten different lists, with a bunch of templates and checkboxes...but you're at least two months behind, and every time you log in, you feel a vague sense of dread. And you probably still write a bunch of stuff on sticky notes.
I'm not gonna pretend that I am any different.
My index card pile has a mind of its own. (So many index cards, y'all.)
The notebook fatigue is real.
And while I have a deep and abiding love for Notion, I am happy to spend at least thirty minutes telling you what's wrong with it.
The thing is, it's not really about your system.
It's about how you're processing the information.
Once you actually know how to parse the data, the output is almost irrelevant.
The truth is, we're not really taught how to plan.
Most of us were tossed a planner in high school, and then forever after left to our own devices.
And planners rarely if ever contain all the components of a processing system.
So if you DO manage to break things down into actionable steps, it's only because you got lucky.
And look, this isn't rocket surgery.
I haven't invented anything new, or trademarked a fucking system.
That is the complete opposite of what we're doing here.
But, I am going to teach it to you in a way that will actually work with your brain.
The Neurodiverse Things Workshops have been designed with you in mind.
Because it's not enough for us to learn a skill. We also have to apply it. So each workshop has been designed to help you implement. You'll get all the tools and templates I have to help figure out what actually works best for you. And then time to actually do it, before we come back for the most actionable Q & A you've ever seen.
The Special Projects Workshop will teach you how to organize and make sense of all your information so that you can actually do something with it.
We do this in three steps.
The first step is gathering up the research, planning, and all the things that live in your head.
This step is not pretty, which is why most planning systems skip it.
Next, we have to look at it from several different angles. A pretty chart isn't going to cut it.
We need to be able to SEE everything, before we get to what comes next.
Finally, we take all that stuff, and put it into order in a way that makes sense to us.
Because we simply won't do it if it doesn't make sense to us. AND, we shouldn't have to.
PLUS! LIVE MAPPING
It's not enough to know what the steps are. Sometimes you need to see how to break them down, too.
Build a SALes funnel
Creating a sales funnel is just about the math.
Once you figure out which parts you need, you can work backward from your deadline. You just have to know what your overall goals are, and what you want to build.
Write a book
At its most basic, a book is just a word goal.
So, how many words a day do you need? And how do you plan for something habitual, especially for the days when you just don't wanna?
Create your content calendar
Planning out regular content is another thing that frequently causes angst, but once you have a system in place, your only REAL problem will be creating that content.

Briar is like my personal Jedi Master.
Just one call with her led to an 8k week.
She asks the hard questions, and makes me think.
Rose of Sharon
I really love my systems now.
It's working! I would not have gotten there without your help in thinking about it in different ways.
I knew I was the voice for others, but Briar helped me reclaim MY VOICE for ME.
Systems on the outside yelled success on the inside!
Briar is a storyteller and systems witch. She helps neurodivergent entrepreneurs take their really big ideas and turn them into a plan.
She believes that everything has a story and exists within a system. The trick then, is figuring out how to change the rules, and tell a better story.
You can hear her talk about stories and systems twice a week on her live radio show, Ask Briar. You can also listen to her talk about terrible kids' movies on the podcast Latchkey Movies.
But don't worry. She still procrastiplans with the best of 'em.
The best system for you is the one you build yourself.
We apparently have a lot of guilt over that, because it doesn't "look the way it's supposed to."
Says who? Since when are they in charge?
But you'll know it's right when you open up your planner or app and feel a deep sense of gratitude. Gratitude that you actually know what you're doing today. Gratitude that you don't have to guess.
And most importantly, gratitude that THIS is actually your life, and you're doing what you're supposed to be doing.
Because when you know what comes next, that's actually true.
Ultimately, project management is about action.
Because you can build the prettiest system in the world. But it won't matter if you aren't checking off the boxes and creating forward momentum.
That's why the system doesn't matter.
How you use it does.
Let's figure out what that looks like for you.
It's possible to make all of your projects special
The best part about implementation time is that you'll actually be able to see where you're off track. Because with two weeks in between calls, you'll have time to put your systems to the test and see if they're really working.

Working with Briar hasn’t just been a game changer in my business, it’s changed my life because I see obstacles differently.
I thought I was incapable of moving ahead with my big ideas and projects but really I didn’t have the systems. I needed the systems to see where I actually required support. Briar not only helped me see the way through, and take steps to implement but she also showed me through support and encouragement, that I could do it. I’ve honestly never felt so supported. I couldn’t have expected it to be this great.
Through working with Briar I not only learned how to build a system that was going to work for me, but also that it was okay to do it in a way that wouldn't make sense to anyone else, wouldn't work for anyone else, and was built around commitments I knew I could keep to myself.
Not a single bit of who I should be, and a whole lot of supporting who I am to be who I could be.
You know you can't have someone set up your system for you, because you'll never learn to use it properly.
But things would be a lot easier if you had someone who mostly told you what to do in what order, walked you through some of your agonizing decisions, so you could see how other people did it. Bottom line: You'd be crazy not to hire Briar if you need better systems for your business.

Thinking differently is an advantage.
Despite what society would have us believe, our strength lies in our ability to interact with the world in a different way.
Which means the best tools are those we create for ourselves.
Never forget the power of those tools.
