Let me explain.

Working with Briar, especially for me (diagnosed ASD and ADHD) is a consistent reminder that the way to success can’t be cookie cutter. It can’t include a template and script. This has to be done by identifying where my resistance and friction is, eliminating  the blocks and creating a system of safety and rewards that drop the dopamine hits.

For example, I’ve never been particularly motivated by money. It has always felt arbitrary, so, after a bit of digging and a series of questions Briar had a hunch that I’d be motivated by a sticker/reward system. Which did indeed really help! I filled a program by writing on a poster board my ideal number of attendees and lovingly plopping down an ombré heart sticker every time I made a sale. This kept me going through a hard time in my life that Briar so deeply and lovingly helped me navigate while running a business.

Having Briar as a coach is permission, being seen, a breath of fresh air. It is honoring myself and still hitting my goals. She fundamentally changed the way I look at my business, and that alone is priceless.

I was interested in her work because I have mild autism and I knew my recent uptick in anxiety was somehow related. I am, among other things, a solopreneur and a spec fic writer, so I wanted a way to tame the anxiety without giving up my pace of growth.

Briar taught me about executive dysfunction and how it shows up in my life specifically. That alone has been a game changer for me because it allows me to process those moments and get back on track WITHOUT self judgment. On top of that, she’s extremely thorough in both her recommendations and follow through. I can happily say this is just the beginning of our work together!

I know how to provide quality work, and how to get results as a marketer and copywriter, but those are very different from having a process in place and the systems built to organize the actual "business" side of things. Before working together, I was working constantly for almost no return - at least it felt like I was. It was busy work, not productive work, and I was mired down in that not realizing how much it, and not knowing how get out of my bad habits and replace them with practices I could do every day that actually would make a difference.

I still have a long way to go, but I'm well past the "frantically looking for enough cash to pay my rent this month" point and am actually growing my business. It'll be at least a year or two to get my company to the level I want it to be, but I'm no longer spinning my wheels with no return, now I'm actually seeing my goals come to life one at a time.

But things would be a lot easier if you had someone who mostly told you what to do in what order, walked you through some of your agonizing decisions, so you could see how other people did it. Bottom line: You'd be crazy not to hire Briar if you need better systems for your business.
